Memorial Weekend

Well i usually do not go to the lake on memorial weekend to fish because most of the time we have disrespectful jet skiers, and skiers invading our space while trying to fish. But me and 2 friends did anyway because we really just thought we could catch some fish.  Well my friend and i went out on Sunday and got to the lake at about 10:30 or so, we got the boat on the lake and cruised to the west end about a half mile or so from the boat ramp. we started drifting and fishing with jig and worm along the south shore and probably not more then 15 minutes fishing my friend hooked a walleye while drifting.  Well after that our other friend showed up so we had to cruise back in to shore to pick him up. After we got him we went back out to the same spot. after awhile of not catching anything we moved farther west where after fishing for a while and just catching a few short walleye and drum and white perch we drifted farther west past a fish feeder, well after about 100 yards past that fish feeder we started hitting white bass one after another. we each had two poles out to equal six and at any given time there was at least three poles at a time getting hit.  we drifted past this spot several more times and managed to land at least 30 white bass and kept not quite half of them, some of them were a little small but also were some quality fish in with them. Well after this action quit we decided to drift the river channel but had no success most of our success was in the shallower water which is where we tried next. We went to the spot where i caught my 3 pound walleye last week and drifted it. we did manage to hook about 15 walleye but only 3 legal fish. But all in all it was a pretty good day. We had a live well full of fish and many more missed and thrown backs.  We did however manage to lose my prop for my trolling motor while it was in the water so that sucked but oh well, it was just a great day of fishing with some nice fish caught.
