Little Long Pond, Plymouth, MA Fishing Report

Trying New Spots

Went fishing at a new spot, Little Long Pond in Plymouth. It's just across the street from Long Pond, but gets much less fishing pressure. No motorboats allowed, but it's so shallow you can wade out 50 feet from shore. I was swimming a green and blue grub through some lily pads when a lunker largemouth slammed it! It was pretty big, but couldn't weigh it, what a day to leave the scale at home. We also found a massive largemouth dead on the bottom of the pond, the thing was about 5 pounds or so. Overall, great fishing experience, I will be coming back.

  • Spring does seem so far away, it almost hurts! I'm hoping for a fly tying kit for Christmas to help me get through the winter a little bit quicker. Also, I've only been here in the summer, hows the fishing through the ice?

  • Nice find and fish ! I'm a bit familiar with this pond ... a very nice place. Small, but nice fish in here, though they can be a little picky (!). Alas, spring seems so long away ... !
