Got to get out late today after dropping our daughter off to her first day back to school. We decided on a little shore fishing and hit up mare meadow again.Nice day but windy as heck.I hit the first one and new right away it was a beast. The battle was on and the fish went airborne,I still had him and he was sweet! Then the fish got caught up in a small blow down to my left,oh no!,then to my relief,he freed..I still have him!I finish reeling him in and its an easy 5lbs. Shannons yelling nice fish!As I reach down to lip him,as soon as I touch his lip,he takes a big shake and throws my hook, and he just sits there as dumbfounded as me.I grab at his tail but he powers away.ARE YOU KIDDING ME!I turn around and shannon already has the camera in her hands and it looks like she saw a ghost.I'm sure my face wasnt any better lol.I shook it off and kept fishing shaking my head every couple seconds and talking to myself lol.I mananged two get a few more fish of decent size, between 1 1/2 to 3 or so pounds.Just guessing because I left the scale at home(dummy). Also caught a couple toothy critters and dinks on the spinnerbait.Shannon was way off her game for some reason and couldnt buy a bite. She ended up with the skunk. Not a common thing for her at all.I'm basking in my glory because today I got the win lol.

Hit a new spot up today with Rokibass. We new it was gonna be a fairly tough bite with the rain coming fast, but it beats the house anyday. It was going pretty bad first thing, fished for an hour or two only getting one small bite.Probably a sunfish.I decided to go check out the lake a little better and stopped across the cove from rokibass,a couple casts later,I get a solid hit and this fish felt like he was in 4 wheel drive.Doing my best not to come unglued the fish jumps and I see its a respectable fish but not the monster he felt like,a 4.3 on the scale.Roki came over like the bud he is and got a pic for me.I caught another shortly after about 1 1/2 .Some casts later I'm on with another big fish, could this be happening, half way in he pops off, never layed eyes on it,but it was a beauty.Couple of minutes later I get about a 2 pounder.I'm thinking wow this is gonna be a good day after all,3 fish and close too eight pounds, why cant that happen on tourney day lol.The rain moved in and the bite fell off never to materialize again, butI had a good day already.

Hit the meadow up for a couple hours with the girl.Got there late or early depending on how you look at it,about 2 and fished till 4.Shannon as usual wasted no time catching a fish, second cast I hear "I'm on" Then she battles in the nicest one of the day 3lb 5 oz, Then a few more casts and she nails one about 2,now I'm thinking here we go again lol.I manange to pick up a couple small ones including a monster that went an easy six inches and a good eighth of a pound lol.We ended up tied at 3 apiece but she got the lunker of the trip.I'm getting used too that.
